NYO3® Antarctic Krill Oil – 56% Phospholipids 500mg 90 Softgels

Superba Boost is extracted exclusively from Euphausia Superba, an Antarctic krill species. Antarctic krill move in huge swarms feeding on microscopic algae providing them with a diet rich in omega-3s.

Krill oil’s omega-3s are bound to phospholipids, increasing their uptake in red blood cells by 68% compared to other marine omega-3s.*

Omega-3 fatty acids are a type of polyunsaturated fatty acids that are crucial for various bodily functions, particularly known for their anti-inflammatory properties. The omega-3 content here likely includes both EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), although specific amounts of each are not detailed.

Phospholipids are a type of lipid (fat) that are essential components of cell membranes throughout the body. In the context of krill oil, phospholipids are bound to the omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), which helps in their absorption and utilization. Krill oil is known to have a higher concentration of phospholipids compared to fish oil, which mainly contains triglycerides.

Choline is an essential nutrient that is similar to B vitamins. It is a precursor to acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that plays a role in memory and muscle control.

Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant belonging to the carotenoid family. It gives krill and other crustaceans their reddish color. In krill oil supplements, astaxanthin also helps maintain the stability and freshness of the oil.
